Of Monsters and Men

Wednesday night Riley, Lewis and I went to an Of Monsters and Men concert! It was literally AMAZING! I mean I don't know if I've ever been to a concert and disliked it but seriously they are great performers, musicians and singers. We all left with a pep in our step and ready to take on the world! Check them out...seriously!

Hollidazzle Parade

Hip hip hooray for getting the gang back together again! Basically a week ago (Woah time has flown) I arrived back home and by Sunday most of the friends had arrived back too. It has been so joyous to see these lovely faces again. So to celebrate our first moments back together, on sunday night we loaded into the man van and headed downtown to see the Hollidazzle Parade. (Does a parade like this exist else where?! Seriously let me know if it does.) But basically this is a parade that happens every Thursday through Sunday night from Thanksgiving to Christmas, featuring people in costumes containing Christmas lights! Its way cool (not that you can tell from my blurry iphone pics). There are different themes like Zoo, Wizard of Oz, Disney,  and of course SANTA! We had a blast even though we couldn't feel our toes at the end.

Much love,
Sara
P.S. Does anyone else have 10 blog drafts literally half finished? Because I def do not.....

Thanksgiving: Dorm edition

Our floor decided to have a floor Thanksgiving! And boy was it delicious! We had a turkey, potatoes stuffing, and all sorts of delicious extras! It was so good considering we normally eat cafeteria food...which isn't too bad but after 1 1/2 years...donezo! It was so very fun and it was even more special because we have an exchange student who had never had Thanksgiving. During the meal we went around and said what we were thankful for. Goodness I love my floor and I will miss them so much when I am abroad.

Much love,

Last week and weekend in September

So I have been MIA again...sorry! I've been catching up from the last week in September, when I was CRAZY! It was homecoming week and we baked over 700 cookies, made a cookie costume, went to Mall of America, a Twins baseball game, walked in a parade, hung out with my floor amigos until the wee hours of the morning and did homework...kinda! I even got a wicked bruise to remember the weekend (via falling out of a car moving 1mph). Needless to say it was a swell weekend!

Monday-Wednesday: bake 700 cookies, sew cookie costume, do school and homework.

Friday: Class, Mall of America (see Riley!!!), twins game with roomie and friends.

Saturday: Parade, laundry, nap, hang out with friends until 4am!

Sunday: Homework, procrastination at its finest and a bruise!

Much love,
Sara

Foodie: Mongolian Grill

This unassuming restaurant is a new fav for this gal. Mongolian Grill is located in my small college town, though the decor is nothing super amazing the food and makes up for it!
Its set up like a buffet...you grab the size bowl you want (small, medium or large) and then fill it to the rim with veggies! After all the veggies you pile on noodles and sauces. After you have the mass of food the cooks cook it right in front of your eyes in about 2 minutes!
It was so cool and yummy! And it was great to get out of the dorms and spend some quality time with the floor mates. Plus, it was a fun, quick, cheap and a semi-healthy dinner that gave me a ton of leftovers! Hooray! Goodness I like good food too much!

Sara

Trampled by Turtles

This weekend combined a few of my favorite things! Live music, Trampled by Turtles and some of my best guy friends! Friday mid-morning Riley drove down and we got to catch up and he got to meet some of my friends here. Later afternoon my bro (Ryan) and friends Mitch and Alex came down to go to the Trampled by Turtles concert. We arrived at the outdoor venue around 7 and listen to two opening acts and then tramped went on at 9:30. AH! They are so good live. Literally I just love them. They are a mix of bluegrass, rock and just plain old amazing string instruments! So good! They are a local Minnesota band from Duluth. Seriously look them up! And in addition to seeing an amazing band I got to spend some quality time with my favorite guys (we even took some time to take band pics of them;)! It was a very fabulous weekend.

Much love,

Foodie: Yum! and Sebastian Joe's

My Hannah Jan and I spent yesterday evening enjoying some delicious food (like always) and conversations! I hadn't seen that girl in FOREVER so it was great to catch up before we head back to school. We were so engrossed in catching up so I forgot to take pictures. Oppose!
We ate at Yum! Kitchen and Bakery, went to some of our favorite consignment and thrift stores and ended the night with Sebastian Joe's Ice Cream
We literally were twins this night because we both had our hair in buns, wore flowy skirts, ate the same delicious salad and ice cream. The food was so yummy and her company is always the best. At Yum! we had a salad with a balsamic dressing with chicken salad on top, so good and at Sebastian's we had a chocolate ice cream with basically any chocolaty thing inside! Seriously, try these places....delicious! Oh and Hannah she is awesome and has an adorable blog Slightly Hipster, you should check her out.

Much love,
Sara
