DIY: Customizable Coffee Mug

Hello friends! Here is a lovely DIY for you all! I've seen this simple project all over the internet so I decided to give it a try.

This mug was made of ceramic so it still worked but the design rubbed off if you scrubbed the sharpie. I plan on using it to store frequently used jewerly.
Lunch, Mugs, ideas and Lola the Computer.

What you will need: porcelain mugs (or ceramic if you want a mug to just be a decorative piece) , sharpie, an oven and ideas!

1)Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
2) Draw your design on mug.
3) Bake mug in oven for 30 minutes.
4) Take mug out and let cool.
5) Enjoy!

Final product!

Note: I have not tried to wash these in the dishwasher. I have only hand washed them. Also, although the pictures I have show tea in them I am not planning on drinking out of them.

  1. Does this seriously work? Because if it does, it's my new Mother's Day project for my students!!! Can't wait to try it! Thanks!

    1. I only have tried using ceramic mugs but I have friends who have tried porcelain mugs and they have worked well.
